GEARS: Greater Edmonton Animal Rescue Society
Their mission is to rescue…
Their dream is that one day they won’t have to…
The Onoway Lego Robotics Team - X-Bots have been working on their challenge for the NAIT competition in January. The students build a robot and program it as a team. The team will have to follow and demonstrate the First Lego League Core Values. One of the most important parts of their challenge is to identify a problem, research it and solve it. This year’s problem is:
“How to make our interactions with animals better, for both the animals and humans”
Greater Edmonton Animal Rescue Society (G.E.A.R.S) collaborated with Onoway Lego Robotics Team to support the team’s research project. Through animal visits and sessions where students could ask questions, these animal advocates have assisted our students in the identification of a problem and in the discovery of possible solutions.
The Lego Team identified a way that they can give back to this non-profit group but they need help from the community. OES is participating in SANG’s Stuff-A-Truck campaign for our local food bank and would like to ask OES students and families to dedicate Wednesday, December 7th as the day to donate Animal care products (kitten, puppy, cat and dog food, leashes, litter). Loonie or toonie donations are also greatly appreciated. The Lego Robotics Team will be collecting these donations of food, supplies and money that are sent to the school on Wednesday and passing the proceeds along to this incredible group. Thank you for any support you can provide.

Thank-you for supporting our solution.
